On March 23, ARC will co-sponsor the one-day conference "Access to Capital and Credit: Strengthening Rural Businesses" in Lexington, Kentucky.
Conference speakers will include ARC Federal Co-Chair Earl Gohl, USDA Rural Development Deputy Undersecretary Doug O'Brien, and Community Development Financial Institutions Fund Director Donna Gambrell, as well as representatives of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and other organizations.
Participants will hear presentations on topics including
- Developing entrepreneurs and growing new businesses;
- Federal support for business lending;
- CDFI/bank partnerships; and
- the Appalachian Capital Policy Initiative.
The conference is co-sponsored by ARC, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, the Kentucky Bankers Association, and the Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation.
