In February and March 2018, ARC held a series of five workshops across the Appalachian Region to help coal-impacted communities learn about available funding to help them diversify and strengthen their local economies through the
POWER (Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization) Initiative. Workshop attendees learned about the objectives of the 2018 POWER Initiative, which organizations are eligible for funding, and how to develop a competitive funding proposal. The workshops also provided information on the latest research about coal-impacted communities, as well as case studies about successful POWER investments and networking time for participants.
