Legislative Update: House Subcommittee Approves Level Funding for ARC for FY 2015; Senate Committee Approves Bill Reauthorizing ARC’s Nonhighway Programs through 2018June 2014 |
On June 11, 2014, the U.S. House Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development approved its fiscal year (FY) 2015 appropriations bill, which contains $80.317 million for ARC’s nonhighway programs. This is the same amount as was provided for Commission programs for FY 2014. The House Committee on Appropriations is scheduled to consider the bill on Wednesday, June 18. The Senate energy and water development subcommittee is scheduled to act on its appropriations bill on Tuesday, June 17, followed by action from the Senate Committee on Appropriations on Thursday, June 19.
On May 15, the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works approved a multi-year highway bill that would reauthorize ARC’s nonhighway programs through 2018. The legislation makes no substantive changes to ARC’s programs or policies. Full Senate consideration of the bill is pending.
