Appalachian Business Delegation to Join May 2014 "Trade Winds–The Americas" Trade MissionFebruary 2014 |
In May 2014 ARC's Export Trade Advisory Council (ETAC) will sponsor a multi-sector Appalachian business delegation to Trade Winds–The Americas, a U.S. Department of Commerce business development conference and trade mission focused on countries in South and Central America. Anchored in Bogota, Columbia, the May 19–21 Trade Winds event will also feature side missions to Ecuador, Panama, Chile, and Peru.
The forum will allow businesses to identify market opportunities in Latin America, learn about a variety of commercial issues, and access the resources of the U.S. Commercial Service. They will also be able to meet with U.S. Commercial Service officers representing Latin American markets to discuss company-specific opportunities and challenges; and hold pre-screened business-to-business meetings with companies in Panama, Ecuador, Columbia, Chile, and Peru.
The Appalachian delegation is supported by Appalachia USA, an initiative overseen by ARC's Export Trade Advisory Council that is aimed at expanding export sales in the Appalachian Region. The delegation is also hosted by the U.S. Commercial Service and the state trade offices of Georgia, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Tennessee.
Complete information on the event is available on the Trade Winds–The Americas Web site.
