On May 30, 2012, representatives of member agencies of the Appalachian Regional Development Initiative (ARDI) met in Washington, D.C., to discuss current and potential collaborative initiatives within the ARDI partnership, including the FY 2012 Rural Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge and a new collaboration to help promote sustainable communities in the Appalachian Region. Participants also discussed agencies' activities to support and strengthen local food systems and opportunities for members to collaborate on related activities in Appalachia.
